This is a recent digital painting, done for fun. I was mainly hoping to get a look reminiscent of the original Transformers cartoon and movie-meaning more linework on the characters contrasted by a looser, more painterly sky. I also wanted to convey the sheer size of Optimus Prime, I pictured him like a lumbering building. And so I added the birds taking off from his back.

What an incredibly realistic approach to the scale and perspective of Optimus Prime. Having the birds flying off him to give us that impression is pure genius!
